A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts the journey has encompassed performances with orchestras and a variety of ensembles.
Concerts have included such events as Womadelaide, The Adelaide International guitar festival and most major music venues throughout Australia.
A prolific composer and soloist incorporating the Nylon string guitar in its bare essence or with added technology such as live looping and samples.
Long Spin
An expressive acoustic guitarist, he specialises in Flamenco guitar, Brazilian and
Middle Eastern Guitar and a wider variety of world musics and Modern Jazz. .
A long list of performances , recent events have included two appearances at the
Adelaide International Guitar Festival, Womadelaide, Spiegaltent and selected for the
debut performance of Astor Piazolla’s ‘Maria de Buenos Aries’ opera.
He performs nationally with a variety of collaborations and holds succesful Guitar
workshops.
Selected as one of five finalists for the Ike Isaccs International Guitar award.
He has also performed with the the celebrated Yamandu Costa and Doug De Vries. And
recently with Israeli Sepahardic singer Rivka Amado.
A long list of film and television recording as a writer and musician, most notably
neighbours and the secret life of us.
Founding member of the Caliente Guitar Trio, a favourite with ABC Radio and music
festivals.
Recent guitar courses has seen him spend time with Maestro Antonio Rey gaining further insight into Spanish Guitar.
Alain [Al] has spent the last few years immersing himself in the Flamenco Tradition in collaboration with visiting Spanish performers.

He is currently principal guitarist for Alma Flamenca, school and performance group.
He leads l his own world music ensemble “Chandrikala’.
At all times the music is acoustic and
hauntingly beautiful combined with an accelerated tightrope of improvisation..at all times, the music HAS to be beautiful….
Currently based in Adelaide, south Australia.
I am interested in having lessons. I play electric blues for relaxation. I am 70 plus, grew up in the UK in the 60s and was interested in a whole range of music, classical and contemporary, came to Oz in 1968.
